For those who want a rewarding career that incorporates the Christian ethic in all aspects of its responsibilities, Liberty University’s Masters of Divinity online program might just be the answer.

Liberty University is a regionally accredited institution that offers many online courses designed to prepare students to practice Christian leadership in whatever career they choose to pursue.

This is a Christian university, and as such it informs students about the Christian way of life, even in the courses that are not overtly related to Christianity. It offers such programs as Biblical Studies, Old and New Testament and the popular Masters of Divinity online program.

Master of Divinity (MDiv)

Master of Divinity – Chaplaincy (MDiv)

If students feel they want to pursue education above and beyond the Masters of Divinity, Liberty University also offers a PhD in Divinity.

Master of Divinity Courses

The courses at Liberty University are affordable and flexible. They are available online, so students can design their own schedule that is worked around a career, family, personal and other obligations. Students can take courses at their own pace. If it is a particularly busy time, students often choose to enroll in only one or two courses; if you find yourself with some free time, you can always choose to take one of the accelerated courses that Liberty University offers.

The Masters of Divinity online program is a perfect blend of online learning and a devout Christian career path. It will prepare students for a career working in a ministry in a church or para-church setting. It is offered through the Baptist Theological Seminary.

The course focuses on Biblical study in order to instill a deep knowledge and understanding of the Christian teachings in students. It also prepares students to be community leaders, and to act in accordance with the Christian ethic in their personal and professional lives.

What can you do with a Masters in Divinity Degree?

Upon graduation, students often find themselves working for a local church. This degree also prepares individuals to work in a military setting as a chaplain.

Some of the more common courses that you’ll find in this program include: Christian Leadership, Pastoral Counseling, Biblical Studies, Intercultural Studies, Church Ministries and Theology/Apologetics.

The Masters of Divinity online course requires that students have a Bachelor Degree prior to enrollment. Most of the specialties that students will choose do not require a residency stay; however, Intercultural Studies, Youth Ministries and Theology/Apologetics require some time spent on campus.

By enrolling in the Masters of Divinity online program at Liberty University, you will be affirming your faith and dedication to doing the work of the Christian church. You will be part of the future of Christian ministries, and you will help to shape how Christianity interacts with the modern world.

What is a Chaplain?

If you are looking for a way to bring the word of God to people and to become a leader in your community as well as the Christian ministry, there can be no better career choice than to become a chaplain. Many people look at this career but still have questions about how to become a chaplain – if you do, this article will offer guidance.

Want to learn more? Take 2 minutes and get the complete scoop from Liberty University.

How do I become a Chaplain?

There are many unique ways to get into chaplaincy. Just like no two individuals are the same, you can approach the question of how to become a chaplain in a way that best fits with your life. However, there are some general guidelines that should make it easier for you, if you need a guide on how to set out.

One recommendation is to already have some experience with a religious organization. This can be in the form of volunteer positions, internships, an active history in the Christian ministry or a recommendation from an organization. Also, some chaplain positions, especially those with larger congregations or in the military, will often require a degree – either in theology, divinity studies or a similar field. Liberty University is a good choice for a degree that will prepare you for chaplaincy. It is a regionally accredited institution that offers chaplaincy degrees, religious degrees and theology degrees online.

Need more info? Take a couple minutes and get the complete scoop from Become a Chaplain.

How to Become a Chaplain – Things to keep in mind

Still wondering how to become a chaplain? Another step you can do to set yourself on the right path is to educate yourself about other religions. It is important to be kind and understanding of all of God’s creatures, even those who do not practice the same faith as you. You may be called upon to counsel those whose faith is wavering or who have no faith at all – in these circumstances, your mind must be open to the diversity of humanity.

How to Become a Chaplain – Once You’re There…..

Once you have entered chaplaincy, you may still wonder how to become a chaplain who is effective and successful. Because you will be a figurehead for a large congregation, you must have confidence in your abilities and in God’s will. This will make you a good leader, an you must use this skill in order to lead worship for the followers of your congregation.

Ethically, it is important that you earn the trust of your congregation. You must be able to maintain their confidence, and be completely honest with them. Because some people will need your advice to intervene in their emotional or other critical situations, they must be able to lean on you when times are tough – and only a person who trusts you will be able to do this.

As a chaplain, you will be on duty 24/7, and you must be willing to respond to your congregation whenever they need your guidance. This career path will allow you to guide people and give them religious counseling, as well as leave your mark on the Christian ministry as a whole.
